Haganäs is a beautiful and peaceful place between Falun and Borlänge by
the Lake Runn, a place that few conference places can match.
Just to see a white steamboat slide through the shiny water and getting
close to the steamboat landing-stage at Haganäs is an experience.
In this area which both Engelbrekt and Gustav Eriksson Vasa fought the
Danish, started in the middle of 1900th century the Haganäs match
fabric. The factory was in operation until the turn of the century when
the phosphor matches that were made at Haganäs became out-competitive by
the new safety matches.
After that, Haganäs was a private place until the middle of the 40’s
when it was sold to Stora Kopparberg and became a vacation place for
employees.
When Domnarvet in 1973 became a part of SSAB, Haganäs was included.
Today Haganäs restaurant and conference is run in
a private direction and is open for everybody.
